Our Island has so much to see, and there are many places for which a sea kayak is the only way you are going to see it. Contact Us regarding any aspect of paddling on our beautiful Island.
- Our Winter 2010 Pool lessons start in February. These are a great way to try out a kayak in warm water for people who just want to check it out or great practice for paddlers who packed their gear away in the fall! Sessions will be held at the Kiwanis Pool in Sydney on February 21, March 7, April 11, April 25 and May 2. All are 5-7 pm. The price is $55/ person with your own kayak or $70/ person with kayak rental. These 2-hour sessions are open to up to five paddlers and give access to 2-3 instructors for skill development including looking at basic paddle stroke mechanics, capsize recoveries and rolling. They fill up fast! Contact Us to reserve your spot.
- Jacqueline and Kathy had a great Highland Hearts Expedition in 2009 with five other women, as well as expeditions circumnavigating Scaterie Island and Isle Madame. Our photo gallery page has images from these fabulous trips! They also went to Florida this fall and paddled Myakka State Park with a fellow guide, some family .... and alligators! - Rising Tide Expeditions continues to be a leader in sea kayaking training in Cape Breton Island. Our Sea State 2 - Intermediate Sea Kayaking Course, which covers the Paddle Canada Level 2 Sea Kayaking Skills curriculum, was September 18-22. Kayakers from the Island, Nova Scotia and Quebec paddled Gabarus Bay and Isle Madame with Tim and guest instructor Blair Doyle, president of Paddle Canada.
